Pork Belly meat or streaky bacon 500 gm, cut in smaller pieces and blanch first.

Mushroom 7 to 8 pcs, soak in water to soften.

Dried Chestnut 70 gm, soak in water for 2 hrs.

Star anise 5 to 6pcs.

Cinnamon 2 pcs.

Ginger, 5 to 6 slices.

Square bean curd (tofu) 3 to 4 pcs, cut into half.

Garlic; appropriate quantity.

Preparation:

In a wok put appropriate amount of garlic and ginger and stir fry with 3 tbsp of oil.

Add pork belly meat and fry for about 5 mins.

Transfer contents from wok to a pot.

Add 5 bowls of water in the pot; add cinnamon, star anise and chestnuts.

Add 3 tbsp of black soy sauce, 2 tbsp of brown sugar and all the tofu.

Cover pot and stew for one hour.
